Few things are as rewarding in Final Fantasy XIV Online as flaunting a rare and coveted mount. One such steed that garners praise is the Boreas. This icy horse will be the envy of your party, but only if you can track it down. How does one procure this majestic mount?
Players will need to use the Boreas whistle to acquire the Boreas mount. Users can only acquire this item from A Realm Reborn’s The Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Extreme.) The Extreme boss fight against Shiva is far more challenging than the original battle, so be prepared for a harrowing encounter.
The Boreas Whistle is not guaranteed to drop but has a chance to spawn in one of the game’s Treasure Coffers after the fight ends. Each item players can receive from Treasure Coffers is listed below:

If the Boreas Whistle does drop, it will go to the game’s loot pool, and each player will have a chance to roll for it with the Need/Greed/Pass system. Only one party member will get the whistle, so be prepared to run this Trial multiple times if you’re unlucky with the loot pool pulls.
