The concept of moving on and moving forward is the main theme of Spiritfarer, but at times this can be difficult due to the obstacles the game puts in the way. The first is the ice wall, but assuming you’ve broken through that, the next is the rock wall. The only way to break through the rock wall and continue your quest is to build the rock destroyer ship upgrade. To do that, you will have to help some spirits and gather some materials.

Building The Rock Destroyer Ship Upgrade

Fireglow

One of the resources you’ll need to gather for the upgrade is fireglow. Before you can even collect fireglow, you need to progress to a point where the spirit Gustav is aboard your ship. From here, you should be able to see a location on your map that is dark but filled with a glowing light. Heading here will allow you to capture fireflies, giving you fireglow seed. Taking the seeds and planting them will eventually reward you with a harvest of 2 fireglow per plant. In total, you’ll need 8 fireglow to build the rock destroyer.

Other Materials

Of course, fireglow is not the only material you’ll need to build the rock destroyer. You’ll also need to gather up 1700 glim. You can do this naturally by completing quests and gathered through fishing and selling items. You’ll also need to acquire 10 aluminum ingots, eight pieces of marble, and two Spirit Flowers. Since you spent your first Spirit Flower building the ice destroyer upgrade, you’ll need to gather two more Spirit Flowers, which makes your total gathered three.

Albert’s Shipyard

Lastly, to build the upgrade you need to head to Albert’s Shipyard. Talk to Albert and select the rock destroyer upgrade. Assuming you’ve gathered the above materials, you’re good to go!
