Endeavoring to catch and collect every Shiny pocket monster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is an absorbing yet difficult challenge to achieve, but Trainers can accelerate their Shiny-acquirement process with the Shiny Charm. The Shiny Charm is a Key Item that players can unlock to permanently increase their chances of encountering a Shiny variant of a pocket monster. Of course, the chances are still notably slim, but the charm does make a significant difference in the spawn rates that players receive. However, unlocking the Shiny Charm is a monumental feat only the most dedicated Trainers can accomplish.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trainers should note that obtaining the Shiny Charm is not something they will likely be able to do during the main campaign portion of their playthrough. While farming Shiny Pokémon can be enjoyable for a brief period, the odds of catching one without the charm are too low to be a worthwhile endeavor. According to Game8, the default probability of encountering the Shiny variant of a pocket monster is 1/4096. However, when equipped with the Shiny Charm, the chances are boosted by 300%, as the probability becomes 1/1365. Needless to say, this is still an unreasonably low rate, but many Trainers will undoubtedly have an easier with this permanent buff to catch all their favorite Shiny pocket monsters.
It should be noted that each version has its own list of exclusive pocket monsters that the opposing version does not feature. For instance, Iron Thorns is the Paradox variant of Tyranitar that is only included in Violet. Suppose Scarlet users want to get this particular monster. In that case, they will need the other game version and another Nintendo Switch, which is a massive investment but something that community members might do. On the other hand, getting a friend or acquaintance to trade the exclusive Pokémon is a much cheaper and more accessible option, as long as users have other players to interact with.
