Metal Claw is a Physical Steel-type Move in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that deals 50 Power in damage but has a slight chance of boosting the caster’s Attack stat by one stage. However, the PP cost is relatively high at 35, with 56 as the max. Nevertheless, Metal Claw can be an excellent Move to use against Ice-, Rock-, and Fairy-type opponents that Trainers encounter during the early portions of their adventure in Paldea. To teach this Physical Steel-type Move to a wide variety of pocket monsters, players will need to acquire the TM recipe.

Finding and Crafting Metal Claw TM in Scarlet & Violet

Similar to TM 037 Draining Kiss in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers can find the Metal Claw TM at the beginning of their journey. Starting at the Los Platos Pokécenter, players must explore the slope to the northeast to find a small alcove with a Full Heal, Revive, and a Yellow Poké Ball with TM 037.

How to get TM 158 Focus Blast in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The hill north of Los Platos is not the only location where Trainers can find the Metal Claw TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. According to YouTuber GameLoc, the recipe can also be found in a cave tunnel east of the Dalizapa Passage Pokécenter. Another can be found near a ledge past the bridge north of the West Province (Area One) – Central Pokécenter. Nonetheless, Trainers must remember that they only need to find the TM once to have access to its recipe in TM Machines. So acquiring multiple copies is not wrong but not necessary.

Based on findings by Game8, here is an index of the items required to craft the Metal Claw TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including where to find each of the resources:

  • Trainers need LP × 400 to craft this TM.

  • Players can acquire League Points by selling any pocket monster materials they do not need at TM Machines.

  • Players must obtain Teddiursa Claw × 3 to make this TM.

  • Teddiursa Claws can drop from Teddiursa or its evolution, Ursaring.

  • Teddiursa can be found in the meadows northwest and east of Artazon, a town in East Province (Area One).

  • Trainers can encounter Ursaring south of Glaseado Mountain’s snowy zone and in the northeastern corner of Paldea.
