Ready to get TM051 Sandstorm to gain a new move in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Well, you can head to a couple of locations to track down the TM. Once you do, you can unlock its recipe in the TM Machine so you can craft it whenever you need to. So, let’s get out in the wild and find TM051 so your companions can learn a new move.

TM051 Sandstorm Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

If you want to craft any TM in the game, you must first find it in the Overworld to unlock the recipe. Above is one of the locations where you can find TM051 in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The location is in East Province (Area Three). Head more toward the middle of the region and you’ll see a tower. Climb to the top to find TM051.

Besides there, you can also check in South Province (Area Five). When you get there, head to the Pokémon Center. TM051 should be around the building:

You’ll know you’ve found TM051 Sandstorm in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet when you see the yellow Poké Ball.

Sandstorm is a Rock-type weather-affecting move. It’s described as a “five-turn sandstorm…” Besides damaging opponent Pokémon, the move also boosts Special Defense stats for Rock-types. The only Pokémon the move will not damage are Ground, Rock, and Steel types. This still makes TM051 Sandstorm a reliable move to use against a host of other opponents.

How to Catch Espathra in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Once you discover TM051 in the Overworld, you can head to a TM Machine and work on crafting it. This way, you can get Sandstorm for multiple companions that don’t know the move.

Below is the recipe for TM051 Sandstorm in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

  • 3,000 LP
  • x3 Hippopotas Sand
  • x3 Sandygast Sand
  • x3 Silicobra Sand

If you need Hippopotas Sand, you must battle Hippopotas. This Ground-type Pokémon is found in the Asado Desert.

Next up, you also need Sandygast Sand. As you expect, this comes from Sandygast, a Ghost/Ground-type, is found in multiple locations:

  • East Province (Area Two)
  • South Province (Area Five)
  • West Province (Area Two)

Finally, you also need Silicobra Sand to make TM051 Sandstorm in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This comes from the Ground-type Silicobra. For this Pokémon, head to these areas:

  • Asado Desert
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • East Province (Area Three)

With all the material (and the League Points) in hand, you can now make copies of TM051 Sandstorm for your compatible companions.
