NEO: The World Ends With You is very good at making you feel like you’re constantly on a money drought, no matter how far you are into the game. Fortunately, there are ways to grind money fast no matter what weeks are available for you to replay.
How to grind money efficiently
To earn money in NEO: The World Ends With You, you sell attack pins or money pins you earn post-battle. The number of pins that you receive per battle is dependent on your drop rate.
To increase your drop rate:
- Lower your level. Lowering your level doesn’t make the enemies stronger nor does it make you weaker—it just decreases your team’s total HP. Each level lower increases your drop rate multiplier by at least one. Equip threads with the “Jackpot” ability. These increase your drop rate by a base number.Chain battles. Each consecutive battle increases your multiplier by one. So if you chain four battles, your current drop rate (with level and thread bonuses) will multiply by four.
There’s also a fourth method available during Week 3, which will be mentioned below.
How to grind money fast
Week 1 – No. 1 Dixiefrogs
On Hard, Dixiefrogs drop 500 Yen pins. You can find them everywhere during Day 1 and 2 at Scramble Crossing.
Week 2 and 3 – No. 33 J Popguin
On Hard, J Popguins drop The Ever-Arctic Treasure pin. It sells for 2,910 Yen. You can find J Popguins in hoards at Expressway Underpass during Week 2 Day 3.
While there are many noises that have more expensive drops in Week 3, like No. 32 Dub Rhino, you can’t kill them faster than you can erase J Popguins because of their high HP.
Week 3 also will give you access to Killer Remix—a special move the Twisters do when their Groove reaches 300%. All enemies erased by Killer Remix will have their drop rates multiplied by three.
Another Day – No. 28 Hardcore Puffers
Post-endgame, you’ll finally get access to Ultimate difficulty via an unlock in your social network. Hardcore Puffers, which you will find at Cat Street, drop 100,000 Yen pins on Ultimate.
These initially have a 0.08% drop rate, but don’t be discouraged. Bring down your level to the lowest number you’re comfortable with and equip the proper threads. Then, chain battle the five puffer red noise symbols at Cat Street to maximize your multiplier.
Each red noise will have two Hardcore Puffers. They will be paired by frogs and birds. Erase those first and bring the Hardcore Puffers’ HP down to 25%. At this point, your Groove should have reached 300%, so just finish them off using Killer Remix.
