Microsoft Flight Simulator is the highly anticipated upcoming game that will let you accurately control airplanes through the sky. The game has no set release date yet, but development is continuing to advance. A closed beta has been announced for the middle of July through the development roadmap released below. This will be the game’s first official move forward from alpha testing.

While the game is expected to release on both PC and Xbox One, we only know that the PC version will for sure have access to the closed beta. Here is how to get access to the closed beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

How to join Microsoft Flight Simulator’s

Closed Beta in July

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Closed Beta can not be accessed as of this writing. However, if you follow the steps below, you can be signed up in the proper program to be ready for when sign-ups become available.

To be able to join the Microsoft Flight Simulator Closed Beta, you will need to join the Xbox Insider program. This program is how Xbox lets the community take part in their console update tests and other alphas and betas. To join, you will need to create an Xbox account and open the Xbox Insider Hub on either your Xbox or PC. Open the Xbox Store and search for Xbox Insider Hub. Be sure not to install the beta version of the Hub. It is a small install, so there should be no issue with space.

Once the Hub is installed, you will need to sign in with your Xbox account. As of this writing, Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Closed Beta is not available, but once it is, it will appear under Insider content. Click on the tile that will say Microsoft Flight Simulator and click join. This will not guarantee you a spot in the beta, but if chosen, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download the game client.
