Just like in the Anime series it borrows from, Super Robot Wars 30 puts huge importance on pilots becoming Aces. An Ace is an incredibly skilled pilot with many confirmed kills and assists. And while in real life, a flying Ace needs to have downed five enemy aircraft, in the world of Super Robot Wars, the requirements are a little more difficult.

In Super Robot Wars 30, you need to have them score 60 kills to make a pilot an Ace. This can be any unit, from grunts to battle ships, kaiju, bosses, whatever! You just need 60 kills, shown as Score in the intermission menu.

Being an Ace gives a pilot +5 starting Morale, which means they can use their more powerful abilities faster. An Ace will also generate 1.1x more credits at the end of a battle. Aces also unlock a new hidden ability that is unique to the pilot.

In addition to Aces, there are also Great Aces. Great Aces unlock at 80 kills, increasing the pilot’s ExC by +1 at the start of missions and increasing SP to 75% at the start of missions. This means they’re incredibly strong right from the start of missions.

Unlocking the skill program Proud Ace will lower the threshold for becoming an Ace to 50 kills and a Great Ace to 70 kills.

There’s also a hidden Ace type called a Super Ace. Super Ace is unlocked at 300 kills, upgrades the Ace Morale bonus to +10, and bonus credit generation to 1.3x.

Aces are incredibly important to advancing in the game as they become money-making machines and some of the best units in your arsenal. You should try and make as many pilots Aces as possible.
